Don’t forget to share your #DartsSunnySelfie whilst you’re picking and tag LittleDevon too! We love to see your pics.
Price: It’s all to raise money for the local charity Hospiscare. Last year there was a contactless suggestion of £5 and a countertop charity collection pot for donations.

Sunflower craft activity
When a day out can then turn into a craft activity it’s all the better. One year we created our own sunflower pictures from the sunflowers themselves. When the sunflowers start to look past their best simply pull off the petals and create your own sunflower pictures.
How to increase the vase life of your sunflowers
Taking tips from Sarah Raven, do the following steps when you get home in order to maximize the longevity of your flowers.
- Strip the leaves off the part of the stem that will be under the waterline (it is bacteria in the water that bungs up the stems and destroys the longevity of the flowers.)
- Re-cut the stems on the angle (so they can draw water freely)
- Put the bottom inch of the stem into a mug of boiling water for 30 seconds (you will see little air bubbles escaping)
- Refresh the water every few days or so or add a tiny splash of Milton to the water to keep the water clear.
