Pod & Pea Weaning Workshop Review

So you’ve just got the hang of milk feeding your baby, their cues for hunger and their routine (or lack of), and now there’s a whole new complication to conquer – weaning.

We’ve found just the expert you need to know.  Meet Ruth: the mummy and baby nutritionist and qualified dietician of Pod & Pea Nutrition, and mum to two (so a lady who certainly knows what she’s talking about).  Let her chat you through everything you need to know at her Weaning Workshop.

The Weaning Workshop

Ruth offers a super-relaxed workshop.  Blankets are set up on the floor with toys for the babies (older children are also welcome at the workshop), chairs for the parents, tea and coffee at the ready, and she purposefully keeps numbers low to give a friendly and more personalised workshop.  Which it was.  Within moments of starting, questions were asked, and Ruth was able to tailor elements of the workshop to different people according to their home diets (vegetarian, allergies etc (she’s not looking at just how much cake we all eat!)). There are handouts too, so you don’t need to remember everything (she knows about the dreaded baby brain!).

To the background hum of gurgling babies, snuffles and feeding, and Mums rocking, Ruth talked through the main developmental signs to look for, for when to start weaning – not just the 6th month birthday.  She spoke through baby-led weaning and more traditional puree approach and alleviated the many fears and concerns about babies chocking vs gagging. Dispelling myths, reassuring parents and answering the oh so many questions that us mums can think up, as well as giving us a taste of some homemade muffins suitable for babies, the workshop certainly was informative.

Timed to perfection, just as the babies were starting to get niggly and a little more vocal, Ruth had covered everything there was to know about weaning, setting everyone up to confidently try out and have some fun with their babies and their weaning journey.  And to enjoy the faces babies pull when trying new flavours.

Little Devon readers are also lucky enough to be able to receive a 10% discount on the ticket price too – just mention Little Devon
