So here we are again. While its the third time, things don’t seem to get easier. We’ve compiled a few resources that will hopefully help you through.
If you haven’t read our new Guest Blog post by homeschool guru, Anna Dusseau then do. It’s a comforting read with tips to help you through.

Stories and School Support (4-7) *previously School when school is closed
An amazing online group, where Exeter mum, ex-head teacher and now primary consultant and founder of Every Day’s a School Day, Emma has recorded over 100 videos of herself reading stories with the book in hand (so the children can see the pages) and then offering linked ideas for learning too. It’s fabulous for a home learning for KS1 – national curriculum links, or for enjoying 10 mins to grab a cuppa in peace!
“A group offering stories and play based teaching and learning ideas for parents and children (aged 4-7) and support for parents about all things school-related for this age group (‘lives’ with Emma and guests – please request topics or ask questions, we’re happy to help) All previous stories available in the announcements section.
We also run the Every Day’s a school day Facebook and Instagram accounts:
Laura Loft Music
From the author and composer of the fabulous book ‘Big Emotions’ (for Little Devon’s review please click here) Laura is offering Five Free Creative Listening Music Lessons over lockdown aimed at KS2 and lower KS2. With the aim to get ‘Cosy this Winter’ and step 1 of lesson 1 to make a hot chocolate you know its going to be a great way to experience music lessons for everyone.
NCT Torbay & South Devon: Walk and Talk
“After carefully reviewing the guidelines and getting approval from head office we are very pleased to confirm that our walk and talks can go ahead This is free to join but we are limited on numbers to ensure we adhere to COVID regulations so booking is essential.”
If you are interested in walking but can’t make the event then take a look at some of the walks that I have written up on Little Devon here. We also have a Walking Group where you can ask for ideas for places to walk, suggest an event or meet a new mummy friend at a distance of course.
There are so many free home learning resources out there, I really don’t want to bombard you with many more but here are a couple that I thought might be of interest.
Claire is amazing at coming up with easy play ideas for your Little ones from babies to preschoolers and beyond with stuff that you’ll have around the house. There are packs of ideas (Play prompts) for each age group as well as for the different seasons too.
By using our affiliate link below you’ll get a lovely 10% off playPROMPTS and mini packs of playPROMPTS and we will get a small commission.
