I didn’t think I could get more excited for Gone Wild this year, but they’ve just announced the Children’s line up and I am giddy (never mind the kids!)!
Jaimie from Cosmic Kids Yoga will be there! – She is a firm favourite in our house and all I can now think about is what ace routine she’ll be doing. Surely it’s ‘Going on a Bear Hunt’. We’ll join in a huge live yoga session made for kids and grown ups, and see who in the family has the bendiest stretches! – It is always amusing when my husband joins in! For those who don’t know, Jaimie is a Youtube sensation, who gets kids excited about getting active with her fabulous yoga routines set to well-known stories.
There will be a T-rexriffic load of dinosaur activities from Britain’s Got Talent 2022 Semi-finalists Dinomania, which I know my kids will love this year after our recent dino adventures, including meet and greets with ‘live’ and life sized prehistoric creatures, the chance to feed a baby dinosaur and an interactive dino museum.
Following an absolute smasher of a set last year, Andy and The Odd Socks will be returning to rock out and get the crowd at Powderham Castle up and dancing. CBBC megastar Andy, known for his adventures with dinosaurs and animals, will bring the whole Odd Socks band along for an energetic live set at Gone Wild on Sunday Afternoon.
Also joining the festival from the CBeebies family is YolanDa’s Band Jam. Award winning musician YolanDa Brown will take kids on a journey through music playing noisy tunes for noisy little ones to get their groove on.
New family activities for 2022 include survival archery, UV golf, a digital climbing wall and a commando abseil tower – all included in the ticket price.
The Bear Grylls Survival Academy will be running activities in the ‘Camp Nature Valley’ zone, including camouflage and concealment, shelter building, fire lighting and a gross eat station (a fun area the kids love). There will also be the chance to get really wild in a two hour desert island survival experience, where BGSA instructors will lead families through a challenge to survive a shipwreck by teaching them Bear Grylls inspired survival skills such as knot tying, fire lighting, navigation and bushcraft, and finishing with a spectacular smoke run.
Gone Wild Festival is all about giving families the chance to get outdoors, get into nature, rewild themselves and do something memorable together. Young adventurers can escape from everyday life and have an opportunity to have an unforgettable four days. With that in mind, Bear Grylls has made it possible for many children to attend for free. The free children’s tickets are available to anyone with the purchase of a full-price adult day or weekend ticket. There is a limited number available and they are proving very popular so get in quick and make the most of Summer 2022.
