Flower Picking & Vintage Tea – September
Join us for an absolute treat – picking your own beautiful bouquet of flowers and enjoying a vintage tea with gorgeous views and, of course, great company!
My favourite place to be last year was wandering among beautiful flowers at Amelia’s Flower Farm. You too can be surrounded by beautiful blooms, choosing your favourites and creating your own stunning bunch of flowers. For the Little Devon event, it is even more special as we continue the day with a delicious vintage tea party where we can all chat, laugh and get to know each other.
As ever, your little one(s) are most welcome at the event. This event is open to all: parents of babies, toddlers and preschoolers. It’s also a glorious day out for Granny or friends without children to join us too.

What to expect
- A welcome cuppa by the old apple tree – we can get to know each other and get ourselves sorted and relaxed (I know how leaving the house with little ones can be!)
- Enjoy a relaxing experience meandering through Amelia’s field of beautiful flowers picking your very own blooms to take home and enjoy. (The flowers are glorious and all grown lovingly without chemicals and pesticides).
- A vintage tea party together – delicious cakes and tea/ coffee / sparkling elderflower and a chance to get to know one another.
- A small play area set up for the children suitable for their age.
- Super-friendly fun atmosphere!

What do I need to bring?
Remember to bring your camera and wear sensible footwear, nettles and grass etc! It is a working flower farm – you are obviously responsible for your child. Babies in slings or prams – whatever works well for you (I’ll also be hoping for lots of baby cuddles too!) Cutting bucket and snips are supplied but best to bring something to take flowers home in that won’t fall over in the car, or Amelia sells buckets for £1.
The event will be going ahead come rain or shine (this is the UK after all) so please dress according to the weather. The Vintage Tea will be upstairs in the barn. I can help with getting prams up the stairs if needed or we will have a cosy area with blankets that babies can lie down on close by. It’s all very relaxed so, most of all, just bring yourself and be ready to do something glorious for YOU!

Amelia’s Story
We are a small scale cut flower farm and floristry business nestling in the beautiful valley of Combeinteignhead only a stone’s throw from the River Teign in South Devon. Every year we grow thousands of heirloom, scented and unusual varieties of flowers for our customers. I began my journey into the world of flowers as a keen gardener, as I began to share my flowers with my friends, this led to my first bouquet sales and I realized the power flowers can have – especially locally grown, scented ones!
Going into business with my husband Giles made sense to us, we have a shared love of the outdoors – curating our land for our sons to inherit and working alongside each other allows us to share the workload. We have three free-range sons who constantly inspire and amaze us every day – we truly believe that we are building something for the future…. a sustainable farm – growing alongside nature.
