Farm shops: a perfect setting for the kids to have fun and grown-ups to have a cuppa.
When childless, a farm shop for me (influenced by holidays in Cornwall) always seemed to be a little wooden hut with a few organic veggies in. Lovely, but nothing more than a way of supporting local farmers and having a good dollop of ‘feel good’ too. How wrong was I? Farm shops are a great place to have a morning or afternoon out having fun with the kids and be back in time for nap or school pick up.
With fantastic child-friendly environments (think: animals for the children to admire, outdoor play equipment and sometimes an indoor play space too, not to mention lovely cafes with cake and even full-blown meals) farm shops are definitely a great choice when searching for a place to go with the little ones.
Great for when you’re just you and the children, but even better with friends as they are one of the few places that are spacious enough to handle the barrage of buggies and copious clobber that a child collates.
We’ve enjoyed many a Devon Farm shop and play spaces. Click on each link to find out more.
